Martin Tithonium 👽

Today is the only day in history when every adult was born in the 1900s, and every minor was born in the 2000s.

Today is the end of all 90s kids. The seal is broken.

With regard to signing up with capone's website and mobile app: "in short, they have an entire security theatre production company, an opera house, and a couple of tv specials."

Once upon a time, next day delivery from amazon meant "around noon". Now it's "whenever some rando with a hatchback gets around to it", aka "twenty minutes before 9pm". Very frustrating when I've been waiting all day for a part.

"Alexa, play A Talk with George". Twice, it gives me their AI chatbot instead. Had to say "play A Talk with George by Jonathan Coulton". ::P

Finally broke down and bought a yubikey 4

It's going to take me forever to get it tweaked to work the way I want it to. [sigh]

After months of deterioration, Textmate has finally become unusable. Switched to Atom, but I don't have to like it.

The Tick, S02E06 Bloomsday: A story that wouldn't happen in the age of streaming music services and omnipresent cellphones.

After poking around trying to figure out how to make the moos (which will be running on internal microservers) available to the internet, I just gave up and used my existing script for setting up iptables port forwarding. If people get kicked after five days idle, that's their own problem.

Remind me next time to just buy a case with a fan in it, even for microservers.

I think Diadem's problem was heat. Just cut a hole in the top of the case and added a fan. So far, I seem to've been right. CPU temp down from 50-60 to 40-50, even when doing things that used to kill it.

I'm going to move the MOOs on to micro servers on the internal network, which means I need to proxy to them from an external-facing machine. Trying to figure out if I'm better off using iptables DNAT or haproxy.

And now the package shows 'delivered to back porch'.

We don't _have_ a back porch. So it's probably at the wrong house.

Got a package coming from Amazon. Supposed to be here by 2100 tonight. At 2000, it showed a map, said the courier had five deliveries ahead of me. At 2108 is says "Sorry it's late, expect it tomorrow!" ::P

What do you do with a MOO where only one of the official wizards has logged in in the past 18 months, and that one not for 3?

and it's down again. ok, so.. do I buy a new CPU, or a new Motherboard, or new RAM, or all three at once? There's nothing in the logs at all to indicate what the issue is, so I have no good way to figure out what's causing it.

Leaning towards CPU first, since I wanted to upgrade it anyway, then motherboard.

Looking at my Amazon order history, I've been upgrading kindles every 2.5 years. But I've probably read more books since getting my Oasis a month ago than I did on my Paperwhite and Voyage combined.

Picked up a couple of SNES Classics at the Amazon Store, whee. Also tried to upsell my coworker on the Kindle Oasis.
